Most people stiffen with self-consciousness when 

they pose for a photograph. Lighting and fine camera equipment 

are useless if the photographer cannot make them drop the mask, at least for a 

moment, so he can capture on his film their real, 

undistorted personality and character.

대부분의 사람들은 사진의 포즈를 취할 때 자의식 때문에 긴장한다.

만약 사진가가 필름에 그들의 진실되고

왜곡되지 않은 인격과 특징을 포착하기 위해

최소한 한 순간만이라도 그 긴장의 마스크를 벗게하지 못한다면 

아무리 훌륭한 조명이나 카메라 장비라 할지라도 아무런 쓸모가 없다.
